I'm still out in the cabin the snow has melted now that we have heavy rains moving in which means I was able to get out for a little bit. But as soon as we came back I finished my largest Celtic Knot yet.The first thing you do when drawing a Celtic Knot is to make a grid, followed by diagonal lines. Once the pattern is filled in it seems that it is all about erasing and re-connecting. I think there is a method to where you place the new connections, but I haven't gotten to that part yet. Once reconnected it's all about clean up and color. And that's what I've been doing. Let's see what else happens over Christmas.

After several months of not blogging I figured it's time to post about my adventures again. This week I've been exploring the snow and drawing Celtic knotwork.Currently, I'm sitting in Alger, WA enjoying time with my family and the snow! On Monday there was a snowstorm that brought us 8 inches of snow! Since we are up on a hill that means being snowed in, which is fine with me since I brought knitting, drawing, and my laptop. Plus there is exploring the snow-buried woods! And since I'm practicing Celtic knots I made a little doodle in the snow. I purchased 'Celtic Knotwork' by Iain Bain from my favorite used bookstore called Treehorn Books. I've been wanting to create my own designs for weaving and my favorite styles include Art Nouveau and Celtic knotwork. Hopefully, by learning more about these styles I can develop my own designs for weaving.
Eventually, I would like to convert my Celtic knots into weaving images using blocks. In fact I have my weaving software and a trial for photoshop elements so maybe I'll try it out before the road clears.
